- What is the ARM Program?
ARM is a referral program to assist the unemployed tribal status clients and the employees with human service issues.
- What is the purpose of ARM?
ARM is a safe place for a client to come, approachable, proactive, respectful, and caring. The ARM Program care about what the individual has to say. ARM will refer the client to an agency that can give them the professional assistance they need for mental health or drug and alcohol abuse of personal assistance, if the program is available.
Many employees have been suspended of terminated and with a referral to ARM this may have been prevented. ARM is a service to offer alternatives to discipline and provide options to fix the problem area.
ARM is a support program that offers solutions, mediation and healing programs. ARM is an aide to prevent employee turnover.
ARM is also here to assist the unemployed tribal status clients to become employable. If the client did not get the job they applied for because they failed a typing test, math test, report writing, correspondence or other testing, ARM will assist in teaching the client to bring up their scores. ARM will also do mock interviews to prepare the client.
- Who is allowed to come to the ARM Program as a referral?
Any Tribal employees from frontline to management. The supervisor or manager may refer an employee. The client may be referred by the BOD, GM, HR, Compliance, Health and Safety, Tribal Court of the Tribal Education Center. A client may enter the ARM Program as a self-referral. The unemployed clients may enter the ARM Program as a referral from Tribal Employment of as a self-referral.
- For what reasons would you refer a client?
For clients the signs might be:
Poor attendance
Absenteeism
Tardiness
Drug/Alcohol Abuse
Anger Management
Change in work habits
Isolating
Departmental problems interfering with work
Work relationships
Health related work hindrances
Supervisor/employee problems
- What would ARM do to help the clients?
After the initial assistance ARM would refer the client to professional services such as:
Mental health counseling
Out-patient treatment
In-patient treatment
Relapse prevention
Grief counseling
Anger management class
Stress class
Motivation class
Workplace relationship classes
Self-esteem class
GED classes
Variety of Training
Computer Training
Math, reading and writing upgrade

- Do you track the clients?
ARM tracks the clients for up to six months.
- Does ARM offer support the clients?
Yes, not only by personal communication, but also by letter communication and one-on-one encouragement.

- Where is the ARM Program located?
At the south lot, where Tribal Court is currently located. The modular is behind the Tulalip Inn and ARM is located on the north side in the back.
- Is ARM a mandatory program?
When an employee has committed a second offence to the Excessive Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy, they will get a referral to ARM. The ARM Program is an alternative to discipline, and if you are a Tribal Court referral it is an alternative to jail time. If the client does not want to participate in the ARM Program they will be sent back to the place that referred them. The ARM program is an option, not a requirement.
- Does ARM keep the manager informed?
Yes, the manager or supervisor will be updated on the client’s status and participation in the program.
- Will the client receive documentation that they participated in the ARM Program?
Yes, when the client has completed their obligations, they will receive a Certificate from ARM.
