Proposal Title

RFP for Gathering Hall Microgrid Design, Procurement, and Installation for One Solar and Battery Storage Microgrid

Description of Proposal

The Tulalip Tribes will select a contractor to design, procure, and install solar PV and battery storage microgrid for their Gathering Hall. The functional intent of the microgrid system will support the entire building during a 3-day outage during early January where there is minimal solar gain/energy production modeled for.

  • Solar PV: Rooftop solar, mounting on existing standing seam metal roof, southeast facing. Minimum 240kW-DC
  • Battery Energy Storage System: Minimum 500kW-1320kWh
  • Bid Alternative: Additional Equipment: New Appropriately sized diesel generator capable of operating in parallel with new microgrid equipment. 500kW used as basis of pre-design.
  • Interconnection with an existing 1500kW diesel generator supports the building. Note, however, existing generator has known mechanical issues and is thought to be oversized and unreliable.
  • The microgrid system should have a controller capable of receiving external signals and the capability of interconnecting to future planned microgrids or utility facilities.

The project is located on the Tulalip Indian Reservation.
