Caregiver Program

Vision

Tribal members who are homebound are safe, supported, cared for, and valued.

Provide caregiving to homebound clients that support in-home care and assist families.

Services Provided

  • Provided Caregiving Services to Tulalip Tribal Members who are Homebound/Semi-Home-bound with services.
  • Assist with completing the application for services. All applicants are required to apply for State services. Approved State hours may be different from what the Tulalip program approves. Assist with State assessment based on client needs. Act as a liaison between the client and the caregiving agency.
  • Act as a resource and support for those receiving caregiving hours and their family.
  • Distribute medical supplies (Depends®, drink supplements, bed pads, etc.) to elders and people eligible for the caregiver program.
  • Caregivers can assist with personal care and hygiene, light housework, meal preparation, shopping, transportation (the client is responsible for paying mileage if the caregiver uses their personal car), and medication assistance. Specific tasks can be discussed with the Community Health Nurse at the assessment appointment.

Eligibility Requirements

Tulalip tribal members who need moderate to complete assistance with personal care or other activities of daily living. A Community Health Nurse will complete a functional assessment to establish eligibility.
