The Tulalip Tribes is a federally recognized tribe
and successors in interest to the Snohomish,
Snoqualmie, Skykomish, and other allied tribes and
bands that signed the 1855 Treaty of Point Elliott.
The Tulalip Education Division is a comprehensive program offering support and resources to the youth and families of our community. Our mission is to empower the next generation, providing them with the tools they need to succeed academically, personally, and professionally, and to become positive role models for our people.
We believe in the importance of teaching our history and culture. In 2015, the Washington State Legislature passed a bill that requires all schools to teach the John McCoy (lulilaš) Since Time Immemorial (JMLSTI) curriculum or other tribally-developed curricula. Endorsed by all 29 federally recognized tribes, this curriculum ensures that our sovereignty is understood and celebrated by all.
